Exercise bands
Exercise bands are elastic bands usually made of synthetic materials such as rubber or latex. By looping them around your shoulders or knees, you can exercise your muscle strength and build it up. By using different types of exercise bands, you will train different parts of your body and gradually build up your muscles.
How do I choose an exercise band?
When buying an exercise rubber band, consider first of all its resistance and length. The second parameter depends on the type of exercise you are doing - usually many people opt for a product that is less than 2 metres long. It is quite common for the resistance of the rubber to be indicated by the colour. However, this is not the case for every manufacturer - as there are no standardised rules for matching colours to resistance strength. Therefore, it may be that a particular colour of tape will indicate the tape with the highest resistance in one case and the lowest resistance in another. The resistance of a rubber band depends on its thickness and width.
Exercise elastics - where are they used?
Resistance exercise elastics work well in a wide range of areas. You can use them for both fitness training and weight training. They are also used in physiotherapy, post-traumatic rehabilitation, respiratory therapy and postural defects. The straps are suitable for training the legs, buttocks and back. They allow you to train your muscles without overloading your joints and with less risk of injury. This makes them ideal for rehabilitation and increasing muscle strength after operations and acquired injuries.
Exercises with the use of bands not only intensify muscle strength, but also have a positive effect on the condition of the body and the range of movement in the joints. They also allow you to relax and stretch. They are also suitable if you spend all day in front of a computer screen.
Expanders
An expander is a tool for stretching and strengthening. A standard model consists of hand or foot grips and connecting ropes made of springs or rubber. When performing the exercise, you stretch the cords and thus build up your muscles. You can use the expander for general training and for all parts of the body.
Expanders - when to use them?
You can use the expanders to train the following body parts: legs, buttocks, arms, shoulders, back, chest and abdomen. The expander can be used in home training, at the gym and in physiotherapy clinics. It is also used during rehabilitation. It can be used instead of barbells or dumbbells. When training, it is important to remember the correct body position. Those who have never done training with expanders should consult a trainer.
Floss band
Floss Band is a rubber band with the help of which you can support the regeneration of joints and muscles. The creator of the floss band exercise method is Dr Kelly Starrett. The area of tension or pain is wrapped tightly and then the correct movements are performed.
When is a floss band used?
By using a floss band, you will maintain proper muscle flexibility and increase the range of movement of your joints. In this way, you will minimise the risk of injury. You will use the rubber in cases such as:
-
reduced range of movement, for example as a result of being overweight,
-
soft tissue adhesions,
-
pain and tension in soft tissues,
-
muscle tissue rupture, contusion or pulling,
-
joint injuries,
-
pain in musculoskeletal organs.
