Volleyball, volleyball sets
Volleyball is a team sport combining three well-known disciplines: football, volleyball and tennis. It was developed in 1921 in Czechoslovakia. It is not a very popular sport, so it is a good way to add variety to your training plan. The game consists of bouncing a ball over a net between two teams. Bounces should be performed with every part of the body except the hands. In English, volleyball is football tennis, in German it is Fußballtennis and in French it is Tennis-Ballon. At Yakimasport you will find volleyball kits that will make your team's training more interesting and your players will develop new skills.
Volleyball rules
Volleyball is played mainly on points - up to 10, 11, 15 or 25 points. It can also be played "at a loss". During the world championships, the game is played to 11 points and a particular team must win by a margin of 2 points. The most popular competition is held in the Czech village of Řitka and is held in honour of the originator of volleyball.
There are three disciplines within volleyball:
1. single: one player, one bounce in all categories, two touches, court dimensions: 9x12.8 m.
2. double: two players, one bounce for men, two for women and juniors, three touches (no two consecutive touches by an identical player), court dimensions: 9x12.8 m.
3. triple: three players, one bounce for men, two for women and juniors, three touches, pitch dimensions: 9x18 m.
In each discipline, the set ends with 11 points at two points difference. The maximum score is 15:14. The team that wants to win the match must win 2 sets. The height of the net should be 1.10 m. Players should not touch the net during the game, as the opponent will then gain a point.
Volleyball
The ball with which you will play a volleyball match, also called a futon, is glued, consisting of 32 panels made of synthetic or natural leather. If properly inflated, it should bounce to a height of more than half a metre. Once the ball hits the net and returns to your team's side, it is not allowed to bounce back.
History of the game of volleyball
The history of volleyball began in 1921, in the village of Řitka, in what was then Czechoslovakia. In the aforementioned year, the mayor of the village organised a competition of kicking a beer mat over a table. And in 1922, members of the Slavia Praha football club started a game called 'football over the line'. It was only later that volleyball over the net was introduced. This new version of the game had almost identical rules to volleyball. However, it was played with feet instead of hands, plus the number of players was smaller - limited to one, two or three players per team.
In 1936, the first official rules of volleyball were written down, and in 1940, the first cup was organised. 22 years later, the Czech Volleyball League was founded in Prague and the Czech Volleyball Association was established in 1971. Where in the world has volleyball become most popular? Primarily in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Switzerland, Brazil, France, Austria and Croatia.
Volleyball developed mainly in connection with a folk movement called tramping, which originated in Czechoslovakia and was inspired by scouting, the American Wild West and woodcraft. Tramps regarded volleyball as their own sport and strongly identified with it.

In our online shop, we offer various volleyball equipment kits. Among others, we recommend products that you can set up both on a hard surface (hall or Eagles) and on a natural surface. You do not need pegs to fix them. Volleyball is a very good choice if the coach wants to make training more varied. It can be a form of fun, thanks to which the players can practise their ball control skills.
We also recommend a volleyball set to be placed on natural grass. With this set, you can conduct a variety of engaging training sessions to develop football skills. The set is ideal for junior sections, as it can be a form of more casual play. In addition, volleyball will be a suitable discipline for both those who train professionally and amateurs.
